Manuel Ruiz Moriche, co-founder and creative director of ARK Architects, once again shares in FORBES magazine the keys to ensuring the success of a great project.
The article is titled “Living in an Eden”, a comparison to what it would be like to find yourself in true paradise if you’re lucky enough to live in one of the homes by ARK Architects, crafted with a unique design, the pinnacle of silent luxury and bioarchitecture.
For him, every great project starts with a conversation in which the location is observed. This is why the villas under the ARK brand are like “an impeccable tailored suit.”
The co-founder of ARK considers himself a humanist architect of light, as stated by FORBES, and explains in the article that this stems from the comparison made by Pritzker Prize winner Álvaro Siza, where architecture is the creation of a stage for the human being.
The Key to Success
What’s the secret to success? According to Manuel Ruiz, he explained to FORBES: “Success is a result of working with passion and doing things well. We’re in Sotogrande, a natural environment with a very powerful DNA, and our architecture is born integrated into this setting. Also, since the client is involved in the process, if you don’t take the architect’s ego out of the equation, the project won’t come to life.”
On the other hand, listening to the client is another of the most important factors for achieving success. This is essential in every project: “putting yourself in their shoes” and capturing every dream they hold within.
The Importance of Well-being
After COVID, the co-founder of ARK Architects explained how the perception of single-family homes has changed. After the pandemic, people pay more attention to physical well-being, which is why each ARK villa has a wellness area, from gyms to massage rooms.
“This has to be a fluid space where the family can be together but each person has their own space. Moreover, we’ve realized that we need to return to our roots and breathe clean, fresh air. This is what we try to achieve with our architecture—living in harmony with nature, which is so beneficial for calm, relaxation, and physical and emotional well-being,” explains Manuel Ruiz Moriche.
