With a forthright but sober, elegant, volume, White stands on the topography of Sotogrande.
In the first place, the large plinth that makes up the semi-buried basement creates the platform on which the upper and lower floors sit, raising them above the leafy tops of the surrounding trees. Stitching these two floors together, a large opening centred on the volume of the main area opens up, with its double height, to frame the unbeatable views of the Mediterranean from Sotogrande – while capturing the beautiful light of dawn.
Around this large central space where the living and dining room are located, and presided over by the impressive fireplace, the two wings of the house are developed. To the north, the kitchen and the service area; to the south, office and the guest suite. On the upper floor, it has its replica formed by the master bedroom on one side, and the three family ensuite rooms on the other. All of this is communicated by the curved imperial court staircase that joins the two levels and that looks out over the double height with a large mezzanine that runs from side to side. The same staircase will lead us to the space imagined for enjoyment: the large podium in the basement. Cellar, gym and a majestic Spa with wellness area open through the indoor pool to the views and nature.
Finally, a guest pavilion and a tennis court form the last platforms used to colonize the hill of the plot.
Because, it is in this way, terrace by terrace, level by level, that the project assumes the unevenness in a staggered manner, generating large terraces where the existing vegetation merges with the landscaping carefully studied to shelter and surround the house, creating a garden that seems fade to the sea.
