Manuel Ruiz Moriche ARK Architects

Spanish born Manuel Ruiz Moriche, known as the Architect of Light and founder of ARK Architects, has been chosen to create “an oasis of life in Abu Dhabi”. He will design two mansions, type 2 and type 5, on the man-made island of Hudayriyat, covering over 51 million square metres and that will redefine the landscape of Abu Dhabi.

The villas by ARK architects in Nawayef have been designed for the real estate development company Modon Properties, adapting their shapes to the hills, which reach heights of up to 55 metres. They will enjoy stunning views of the Abu Dhabi skyline and the blue seas of the Persian Gulf.

The most exclusive villas in Abu Dhabi

The island of Hudayriyat in Abu Dhabi offers its residents an exquisite blend of sports, nature, relaxation, hospitality and unspoilt beaches. In this ambitious project “Nawayef By Modon & ARK Architects”, the architect, Manuel Ruiz Moriche, brings together the roots shared by Mediterranean and Islamic cultures in each space of the mansions developed: “private villas on the outside and rich on the inside”.

For the Architect of Light, among the many factors to be considered to make the architecture both pleasing and sustainable are “the climate, latitude, geography and high year-round temperatures” in Abu Dhabi. This is where the architect, Manuel Ruiz, displays his ability to control such intense light.

Sustainable design in an unparalleled setting

The design of interiors open to the sky that act as natural ventilation stacks bring meaning to bioclimatic architecture that is able to climatise the spaces, minimising their environmental impact and carbon footprint, and reducing energy consumption by up to 80%.

The use of latticework in Arabic architecture is another essential element that is able to control the intensity of the sunlight, creating a visual filter between the inside and outside, bringing both spaces together. New aesthetic developments and state-of-the-art design codes make it possible to bring the homes into line with more modern standards regarding climate control, appearance and privacy.

Manuel Ruiz has also embraced water in his villas as a purifying element that binds the ancestral roots of Arab culture and brings bioclimatic benefits to the homes, creating authentic oases of life.

The villas designed by Moriche adapt to the island’s hillsides, a source of inspiration where each curve makes sense; a natural setting where the desert sand and the sandy travertine are the guiding principle of his homes.

Quiet luxury architecture

Quiet luxury has become the latest model in architectural development; imported from fashion, based on the significance of the conscious choice of the concept and materials.

The designs of Manuel Ruiz pay meticulous attention to the details, materials and textures, and lighting, resulting in villas in which residents can enjoy an exclusive living experience, where physical and emotional well-being go hand in hand thanks to discrete aesthetics with spacious interiors, private swimming pools and large terraces. All of this provides residents with countless options for taking advantage of the stunning views on offer in Abu Dhabi.
